Week - 2nd to 6th November 2020

I spent time this week exploring backgrounds because I usually just use a simple white or grey background but didn't feel that really went which what I was trying to express. I feel the backgrounds in my work also need to feel blurred and disconnected. I used a really large brush and watered down acrylic paint. I wanted backgrounds with some texture that will help me blend the figure in. As shown in the pictures bellow.

From a conversation I had with a tutor this week, we spoke about how there could be other ways that I could blur the figure. I decided to try it with taking photos. I would have the model move their head as I took the photo. I used one of my painted backgrounds in the photo because I wanted the to be some relation to the work I am producing. the image to the left is on of the out comes I got from doing this. these imagers remind me a lot of Gerhard Richter work. this was the original artist that made me change my style. they have had a huge influence on my work and what I produce. There work is paintings of blurred photos from when some group leader killed themselves. It was to make you feel that there is a body their but mentally they are not there. feel that it relates well to these images because of the blurriness.
