Acrylic painting - Series 2

I wanted to develop my acrylic paintings further so I took a series of pictures of my self and my mum in different positions. I didn't want the figures to be completely nude just have the top half revealed. These photos have enable me to be more experimental. I feel a lot more confident in the marks that I am making. So I am able to use a bigger brush get more expressional marks. With these paintings I actually filmed myself when doing them. I wanted to see from another perspective what it looked like when I was painting, the colour choice I was making etc. I like the fact I can now look back and watched what I was doing. Its exciting to see the paintings appear on the white paper. (videos at the bottom and more on the page Year 1)

The double figures I really like because if creates this sense of movement in the figures. It also come back to when I first started this project and done the portraits which was two. This time to I brought the two portraits together. I think it is exciting to see. I feel i can take this further, maybe in oil paints.
